UI/UX Designer

I design dashboards, portals and internal tools for B2B teams, so I learn how the work is really done first, and then I design every screen and every state your developers will build.

What I design

The software people hire me for

I think B2B software is mostly used by people who did not choose it, so I design each screen around the job they came to do and the decision they make with it.

Dashboards

Reporting screens which answer the questions a team asks every morning, with the numbers that decide the next action placed first and the detail one click below.

Customer portals

The portal where your customers order, pay and check their accounts, planned around what they come back to do every week.

Internal tools

Back office screens for sales, operations and finance, where speed and fewer mistakes matter more than anything decorative.

Tables and workflows

Tables, filters, bulk actions and forms in several steps which still work at hundreds of rows and with the messy data of a real business.

Mobile apps

Companion apps for the people away from a desk, designed for one hand, a small screen and a few seconds of attention.

Design systems

A component library in Figma with tokens and every state, so each new screen matches the last one after I hand over.

How I work

I learn the workflow first,
and then I design the screens.

I believe most UX problems are workflow problems,
which a screen only solves once someone has watched the work.

Four stages / six to twelve weeks

Stage / 01

We start with calls with the people who use the software, and I watch how they work today, in the product or in the spreadsheet beside it, so the problems we solve are the real ones.

Stage / 02

Then I map the flows and the structure, which screens exist, what each one is for and what happens when the data is wrong, and we agree on it in one document.

Stage / 03

I design every screen for desktop and phone in one shared Figma file, from the empty state to the error, and your comments from each round go into a single list.

Stage / 04

I hand your developers a file which they can build from, with components, tokens and notes on behaviour, and I stay on call during the build, so their questions are answered the same day.

Working with me

Screens your developers can build without guessing

I think a UI/UX file is only as good as the product it leads to, so I design with the components your developers already have and mark what each part does in every state, and since I build front ends myself I can tell early when a screen would be slow or expensive to build.

  • Every screen for desktop and phone in one shared Figma file
  • Empty, loading, error and permission states drawn for every screen
  • Components and tokens set up, so the next screen matches the last
  • Calls with your developers during the build, so the product matches the design

Common questions

Before you hire a UI/UX designer

What does a UI/UX designer do?

A UI/UX designer works out how a product should work and how it should look, from the flows and the structure of the screens to the layout and every state of every component, and on my projects that work ends with a Figma file which your developers can build from.

Do you only design B2B software?

Mostly, since dashboards, portals and internal tools are where my experience runs deepest, but I also design consumer apps and marketing websites, as the case studies show.

Can you work with our developers?

Yes, I work in your developers' tools and timelines and join their calls during the build, and I can also build the front end myself when the team needs the extra hands.

What do you need from us to start?

Access to the product or a few screenshots of it, a short call with two or three people who use it every day and a list of what you would like to change are enough for me to reply with a plan and a quote.

How long does a UI/UX project take?

A redesign of one workflow takes three to five weeks and a product with several roles takes eight to twelve, although I think your team's feedback sets the pace more than the design does, as I explain in how long MVP design takes.

How much does it cost to hire you?

I quote each project after reading the brief, since the number depends mostly on how many workflows and roles the product has, and what a UI/UX designer costs in 2026 explains where the money goes.

What is the difference between UI and UX design?

UX design decides how the product works and UI design decides how it looks and reads, and I do both on every project, as I explain in UI vs UX designer.

Mike helped us design and develop our new website in Webflow. He is very responsive to changes and iterations, and helped find faster ways to implement what we wanted.

    Julien R. Founder, Hire Donna

Hire the UI/UX designer who builds front ends too, and your developers receive screens they can build without guessing.

Send me a link to the product, or a few screenshots and a sentence about what is not working, and it comes straight to me, so I can reply with what I would change first, what it would cost and how long it would take.
